Fallen Officers Donations Reach $333K
The fund for Elizabeth Butler and Butch Baker just keeps growing.

As of the end of last week, donations made to benefit the families of Butch Baker and Elizabeth Butler totaled $333,351.61.
The two Santa Cruz police officers were killed while on duty in late February. They were the first line-of-duty deaths in the department's history.
So far, mail and phone donations have led the pack, bringing in $119,196.75. Online donations sat at $84,680.34 last Friday, followed by $84,484.57 donated to the Bay Federal Credit Union fund and $44,990 to the Wells Fargo fund.

Donations can still be made through any of the following official sources:
- Online at www.cityofsantacruz.com
- Wells Fargo: All branches will accept donations to account# 999 245 1154
- Bay Federal: All branches will accept donations to the “Santa Cruz Police Officers Foundation”
- By Mail: 809 Center St., Room 101, Santa Cruz, CA 95060, payable to the “City of Santa Cruz Baker/Butler Scholarship Fund”
- By Phone: Credit card payments can be made by calling 831-420-5070 during normal City business hours (no charge to donor)
The Santa Cruz City Council is set to make a presentation April 9 at 3 p.m. thanking the community for its huge outpour of support since the tragedy.
