Husband-Wife Killings Deemed Murder-Suicide In Santa Cruz County

SANTA CRUZ COUNTY, CA — A man is believed to have killed his wife before shooting himself in Aptos on Sunday evening, Santa Cruz County sheriff's deputies said. Relatives reported that a individual was injured at a Cuesta Drive home at about 7 p.m., and deputies responded to find 45-year-old Janell Mann and 56-year-old Robert Mann dead inside the home.
Janell Mann was found with gunshot wounds in the living room, and Robert Mann was found in the bedroom with a gunshot wound believed to be self-inflicted, according to the sheriff's office.
Investigators do not believe there are any outstanding suspects and said there is no threat to the public. Anyone with information is asked to call sheriff's Sgt. Jacob Ainsworth at (831) 454-7635.
