With Rapist Finally Convicted, Capitola Survivor Feels Validated
Jody Geare was raped 14 years ago, but the rapist wasn't convicted until this week.

CAPITOLA, CA -- Jody Geare this week finally found the "validation" she needed after being raped 14 years ago. Just this week, her rapist, Salvador Rocha, was convicted, according to a report by KION.
Geare, then 20, was raped while walking home in the city, the news station reported.
"He basically beat me up, strangled me and raped me and left me for dead in a ravine,” Geare told KION.

But four years ago, Geare was told officials finally had a suspect in custody.
"The now 50-year-old, Salvador Rocha, had been identified as her attacker after he was arrested for a separate sexual assault case in Aptos where he attempted to rape another woman," KION reported.
