'Restaurant Impossible' Proves True, Ristorante Barolo Changes Hands
Booka is now open at the Bayview Hotel.

The attempt to salvage Aptos eatery Ristorante Barolo apparently floundered, as a new restaurant has opened in the historic Bayview Hotel.
Booka Restaurant & Bar opened in late May, almost a year after Barolo was featured on the Food Network's "Restaurant Impossible," a show that attempts to save failing businesses.
Three months after the TV show aired, Ristorante Barolo reported a 37 percent increase in profits but the couple running the restaurant suffered health setbacks, according to an update from the Food Network.
Booka, run by a new staff, is serving California fusion cuisine, the Register Pajaronian newspaper reported in this story about the restaurant's "soft launch" over Memorial Day weekend.
