Stomach Virus Hits Santa Cruz County Senior Community

A county health officer suspects the stomach virus spreading among residents could be Norovirus, the Sentinel reported.

SANTA CRUZ, CA -- A senior living community in Santa Cruz this week closed its dining room as residents have possibly contracted norovirus. The Santa Cruz Sentinel reported the breakout happened at Aegis of Aptos.

The general manager of the senior living community told the Sentinel that "county social services staff recommended shutting the dining room for 72 hours."

A county health officer suspects the stomach virus spreading among residents could be norovirus, the newspaper reported.
