Teen Arrested On Suspicion Of Fatally Shooting Soquel Man
Ivan Villalobos, 26, was shot in April while he was sitting on some steps in the common area of the Emerald Bay Apartments.

SANTA CRUZ, CA — A 15-year-old boy was arrested Thursday on suspicion of shooting and killing a resident of the unincorporated Santa Cruz County community of Soquel Sunday night in Soquel, sheriff's officials said. Ivan Villalobos, 26, was shot April 8 while he was sitting on some steps with a friend in the common area of the Emerald Bay Apartments at 2500 Soquel Drive before deputies responded to the shooting at 10 p.m.
Villalobos died at the scene. Sheriff's officials said the 15-year-old was already in Santa Cruz County Juvenile Hall where he was being held after being arrested April 9 for a probation violation. Anyone with information about the case is asked to call Sgt. Dee Baldwin at (831) 454-7635.
