AT&T Brings Accomplished Telecommunications Leader to Cerritos Business Community

On Wednesday AT&T announced the appointment of L. Jace Barbin as vice president and general manager of Mobility & Consumer Markets for the Greater Los Angeles Region, a position that will bring him to AT&T’s local headquarters in Cerritos.

Barbin, who previously held the same position for AT&T's Rocky Mountain Region for five years, replaces Andy Shibley who was promoted to senior vice president, National Retail, leading AT&T’s network of retail stores.

In his new role, Barbin is responsible for AT&T’s overall performance in 10 Southland counties including Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside, San Bernardino, Santa Barbara, San Luis Obispo, Kern, Ventura, Mono and Inyo. His duties include overseeing AT&T's performance in wireless service, network infrastructure, retail stores, product launches and customer growth and service.

Barbin is an accomplished and respected leader in the telecommunications industry with more than 25 years of marketing and management experience, all with AT&T. Prior to serving as VP/GM of the Rocky Mountain Region, Barbin was national vice president of Direct Marketing & eCommerce based in Dallas.

The AT&T mobile broadband network is the nation's fastest and it recently added LTE service to most of the Greater Los Angeles Region. The company has invested $1.7 billion in network infrastructure improvements from 2009 to 2011 and continues to make substantial network improvements this year, according to the company.  

AT&T owns and operates some 120 stores in the 10 Southland counties. Its products and services are also available at more than 957 authorized dealers and national retail locations in the region.
