Cerritos and Artesia to Receive County Funding to Improve Recreation Sites
Cerritos and Artesia have been identified as two of 24 cities that can receive county funding for recreational improvements.

Cerritos and Artesia are among 24 Fourth District cities that will receive funding for recreation and open space projects, according to the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors.
The Board recently approved a motion to allocate $3.9 million to the select cities for improvement projects such as planting community gardens, upgrading play equipment at parks, refurbishing and expanding trails, and constructing picnic shelters.
“I know that funds are limited in these tough economic times,” said Supervisor Knabe. “I hope these projects will help enhance the parks and open space of our cities so that residents have recreational opportunities to enjoy in their communities.”

Each city will be required to submit an application stating what projects it wishes to complete, which must then be approved by the Los Angeles County Regional Park and Open Space District staff prior to the disbursement of funds, according to a news release issued by LA Supervisor Don Knabe.
