Throughout my life I grew up always wanting to learn to do things in the arts. When I was in elementary school I started to learn how to dance and it followed me up until fourth grade where I learned how to play the violin. I wasn’t the best at it but I was able to make it through a whole year and was able to play a lot by the end of fifth grade. In fifth grade I started band where I learned how to play the flute. I wasn’t as good as everyone else so I tried my best. I practiced all day so when it was ready for band class I was ready.
I dedicated myself to music and in a couple months I got moved up to advanced band. Throughout middle school I still continued to play the flute. I also took an interest in drumline that started in 6th grade. I made my way up to the top and in 8th grade I became the flute section leader. I felt accomplished and I knew that the more I worked on it, greater things would come.

Throughout a span of seven years I learned how to play six instruments; the flute, oboe, saxophone, clarinet, violin, and the drums. Being a part of the has taught me to never stop trying. It helped me with school and with the things I learn to do now. It gives me a chance to work with other great musicians and trust one another to make music that other people enjoy. We’ve been through a lot of ups and downs when it comes to learning music but we know that in the end we will pull through to have the best performance we’ve ever had.
Cerritos High School Windy Symphony is a great group that I have had a great opportunity to be part of. It takes a lot of time to be at the level we are. When I was able to perform at Carnegie Hall with the Wind Symphony last year it was amazing. It makes you feel great to the point where seeing others strive for their best makes you want to do so too. Playing at that concert was a once in a lifetime experience just like our trip to London for the 2012 Summer Olympics this year. I have never had the opportunity to do this until this year and still hope for better things to come.
