Hey Baby, What's Your Name?
Isabella and Jacob are rocking the top the Social Security Administration's list of most popular baby names in 2010.
Gone are the days of knowing at least five or six people who share the name Mike or Jennifer. Today, the Social Security Administration says the names Jacob and Isabella are rocking the top of the cradle once again.
In 2010, the names Jacob and Isabella were the most common baby names in California and in the country, according to the SSA. This marks the twelfth year in a row on the list for Jacob and the second year in a row for Isabella.
The SSA says Daniel is the No. 2 slot for boys' names for California babies and Sophia is the second choice for California girls.

The resurgence of names like Isabella, Ava and Chloe, suggests a trend in naming baby girls after their grandmothers, according to the SSA.
Much to the dismay of Social Security Commissioner Michael J. Astrue, Elvis has left the building -- well, at least this time around. The name Elvis slipped out of the top 1,000 for the first time since 1954.

“This news about Elvis has me all shook up,” said Commissioner Astrue. “But that’s all right mama. I’m confident that, next year, America’s new parents can’t help falling in love with Elvis again and moving it back into the top 1,000.”
The SSA began compiling the baby name lists in 1997 and has data of baby names for each year, dating back to 1880.
