Summer Solstice: Enjoy the Longest Day of the Year
Wednesday, June 20, is the longest day of the year! What will you do with your extra daylight?

Do you have any special plans for the summer solstice?
This year the summer solstice is June 20. The date varies depending on when the sun reaches its farthest point north of the equator. The word "solstice" comes from the Latin words for sol (sun) and stitium (to stop) because the sun appears to stop at this time of year, according to the Old Farmer's Almanac.
But how many hours of light do we get today? According to Time and Date, there will be about 14 hours, 24 minutes and 8 seconds of daylight between sunrise (5:42 a.m.) and sunset (8:06 p.m.)
