Sheriff's Department to Host 'Women in Law Enforcement Career Day'

In an effort to draw more female recruits to the department, the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Recruitment Unit will be hosting a special "Women in Law Enforcement Career Day" next weekend.

This event will be held at the Sheriff's Training Academy, located at 11515 S. Colima Road in Whittier between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. on Saturday, June 23.

"We encourage all employees to invite their family and friends who are curious about a career in law enforcement to attend," a department statement read.

Special guest will highlight the sworn and professional staff positions
