Suspect Arrested in Woman's Bellflower Shooting
Authorities are not sure of the motive but believe the suspect and the woman were in a relationship.

BELLFLOWER, CA - The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department has arrested a 36-year-old man for allegedly shooting a woman in a bait n' tackle shop in Bellflower, a sheriff's lieutenant said Tuesday.
The shooting happened about 11:15 p.m. Monday, at the fishing shop in the 17000 block of Bellflower Boulevard, sheriff's Lt. Eric Lindblom said.
The woman was taken to a hospital and remains in serious but stable condition this morning, he said.

Suspect Modesto Alcala was behind bars, Lindblom said.
"He was booked for attempted murder and was being held on $1 million bail," Lindblom said.

Lindblom said he didn't know why the shooting took place, "but I believe the two people were in a relationship."
