Trio of Armed Gunmen Rob Stater Bros. in Bellflower

Three armed gunmen robbed the Stater Bros. supermarket in Bellflower Tuesday night.
The trio entered the store at 17220 Lakewood Blvd. around 9:25 p.m. Aug. 7, said Lt. Joe Nicassio of the Lakewood Sheriff's Station, which serves the communities of Bellflower, Artesia, Lakewood, Hawaiian Gardens and Paramount.
The store's manager was beaten over the head during the holdup, Nicassio said. The supermarket was open and there were customers inside at the time of the robbery, but none were injured, he added.

The gunmen fled on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash, the lieutenant said.
