Where to Legally Buy, Set Off Fireworks in Los Angeles County

You might conclude otherwise from the occasional pop and bang you hear on your block this week, but fireworks are illegal in many cities in Los Angeles County, including Cerritos.

So how can you buy and enjoy fireworks if you live in a town that does not allow them? Quick answer: Go somewhere else in the county or head on over to Artesia

Luckily for Cerritos, its neighboring city, Artesia, is one of the few cities that does allow fireworks in the county.

At the bottom of this article we have a list of where "safe and sane" fireworks are allowed in the county.

Other nearby cities where fireworks are legal include Norwalk, Bellflower and Lakewood.

There is also a very tight window time-wise of when the sales are allowed: permitted sales dates started last Thursday and will end July 6.

If you are confused about whether the fireworks you are buying are legal or not, there is an official "safe and sane" seal courtesy of the L.A. County Fire Department.
