Citrus Heights Hopes to Establish More Cyclist, Pedestrian Trails

A workshop on the Creek Corridor Trail Project is set for May 14.

Citrus Heights may be more pedestrian and cyclist friendly. The city plans to discuss the possibility of creating biking and walking trails within the creek corridor. That discussion begins at a Creek Corridor Trail Project workshop set for May 14.

During the workshop, attendees will discuss the project, weigh in on if the project is feasible, give ideas for trails and help prioritize future trail construction.

"Ultimately, the city hopes to provide improved connections to key destinations for pedestrians and cyclists; improve access to the creek corridors for all residents; increase the number of recreational facilities to more neighborhoods; and increase transportation choices within the city," according to city documents.

These trails will give pedestrians and cyclists improved connections to key destinations within the city including schools, shopping areas, parks and other trails.

"The Creek Corridor Trail Project will play a major role in the ultimate location of future multi-use trails within the creek corridors," according to city documents.
