Citrus Heights Reports Decrease In Violent Crimes

Property crimes also decreased, according to an FBI report.

Citrus Heights police reported 329 violent crimes in 2012. That’s a decrease from the 334 violent crimes reported in 2011.

The number of property crimes also decreased from 3,333 in 2011 to 3,117 last year.

The numbers were released this week by the Federal Bureau of Investigation, which reported a nationwide increase of violent crimes and a decrease of property crimes after compiling crime data from 18,000 jurisdictions in 50 states.

The FBI's Uniform Crime Reports also included the number of police officers in the nation’s police departments.

Citrus Heights has just less than 1 sworn officer for every 1,000 residents.
