Citrus Heights Voters Have Given More Money to Obama than Romney

Citrus Heights voters have given more money to President Barak Obama than Republican nominee Mitt Romney, according to data from Federal Elections Commission.

These most recent numbers—which run from April 1, 2011 through July 31, 2012—show Obama supporters in Citrus Heights have given approximately $18,000, while Romney supporters have given almost $9,000.

Though Citrus Heights voters gave more money to the Obama campaign, it was in much smaller and more frequent increments. The records show that local Obama supporters gave an average contribution of $93—whereas local Romney supporters gave an average contribution of $226. When it comes to donations more than $1,000, Obama has received 3 and Romney has received 2.

The contribution data indicates that Obama has the lead among Citrus Heights voters, which is not consistent with recent voter registration numbers for Citrus Heights. In May 2012, the Sacramento County Elections Office reported that Republicans outnumbered Democrats in the city 17,053 to 13,750.
