How to Celebrate Halloween in Citrus Heights

From trick-or-treating at Sunrise Mall to a Spooktacular event at local shopping centers, here are ways you can celebrate Halloween in Citrus Heights this year:

Antelope Crossing Spooktacular
Antelope Crossing center is hosting their annual Spooktacular event featuring live entertainment, a costume contest, health fair, pumpkin patch and more.
When:10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 20
Where: Antelope Crossing centers at Interstate 80 and Antelope Road

Howl'o'ween Pet Fair
Show off your pet's best costume at the Howl'o'ween Pet Fair Oct. 27. All proceeds from this event will go to the Citrus Heights Community Marching Band. There will be a pet costume contest with categories of cutest, funniest, scariest, ugliest and most original. Cost is $5 to enter your dog. There will also be raffle prizes, vendors and performances by the Citrus Heights Police K9 team and Citrus Heights Community Marching Band.
When: 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 27

Trick or Treat
Sunrise Mall is hosting a free family trick-or-treating event on Halloween where stores will be handing out candy to trick-or-treaters under age 12 (leave the masks and excessive facial makeup at home though), spooky photos available for purchase and more.
When: Photos available from 4-8 p.m.; Trick-or-treating and face painting from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 31
Where: Photos at the JC Penney court; trick-or-treating at participating stores in the mall; face painting at the Sunrise MarketPlace office by Sear's; Sunrise Mall

Trunk or Treat
Bayside Church in Citrus Heights is hosting their Trunk or Treat event on Halloween featuring games and candy. This year's theme is "Circus Carnival," which will feature clones, carnival games and more.
When: 5:30-7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 31
Where: Bayside Church, 6540 Sylvan Road, Citrus Heights
