Motorcycle Chase Speeds to 143 MPH, Canine Catches Reckless Suspect with Stash of Narcotics

After chasing a maniac suspect on a motorcycle through Antelope, Citrus Heights and Carmichael, police arrest 24-year-old Kenneth Smith with narcotics.

Police arrested 24-year-old Kenneth Smith of Sacramento Thursday afternoon on a number of charges, according to Fox 40 news.

They say Smith, riding a stolen motorcycle with a stash of narcotics, led them on a high speed chase that ranged through Antelope, Carmichael and Citrus Heights.

“He was clocked at 143,” said Liz Dutton, Public Information Officer for California Highway Patrol.

Even at 143 miles an hour, you just can’t outrun a police helicopter. So officers say the suspect ditched his ride and hid. But police have tools to deal with that too.

In the end, a police dog grabbed him by the ankle where he was hiding and made the arrest. Police this time literally working to make the streets safe.
