The La Verne Church of the Brethren Sanctuary Choir proudly announces their upcoming Christmas production- two evening performances of Shawn Kirchner's folk oratorio, The Light of Hope Returning!
Dr. Niké St. Clair directs the choir and a select instrumental ensemble including composer Shawn Kirchner at the piano. Performances are Saturday, December 13 at 5 pm and Sunday, December 21 at 4 pm.
Kirchner's highly acclaimed work expresses humanity’s universal yearning for the rebirth of light in the darkest hour. Dramatic images created explicitly for this work will be projected during the concert. The warmth of Kirchner’s original works and his beloved arrangements of ancient carols bring comfort and hope. Come hear what many have called "a truly cathartic experience."
Both performances will be presented in the church sanctuary at 2425 on "E" Street in La Verne. Parking is limited. Doors open 30 minutes before the concert begins. Following each performance, join our musicians and friends for a "cookie reception “on our church patio.
As always, there is no admission fee. A freewill offering will be collected at intermission. Your generous donations allow the LVCoB Sanctuary Choir to bring more quality concerts to the public.
