City Officials Say Claremont on Track to Achieving Sustainability Goals

The City claims Claremont has accomplished 90 percent to achieving energy efficiency goals.

Claremont city officials boasted a sustainability report card that showed the city was on track to achieving its sustainability goals, according to a story in the San Gabriel Valley Tribune.

City officials said latest performance data showed the city approaching 90 percent of its goals.

Of the 37 performance indicators tracked, six were marked as “exceeds goals,” while 27 were labeled “meeting goal.”

The city listed previous sustainability accomplishments, including implementing the city’s plan, energy audits at city facilities, a green affordable housing project on College Avenue and the Claremont Home Energy Retrofit Program. Other accomplishments included being named the first fair trade city in the city and C.H.E.R.P being named the best program in Los Angeles County.
