La Verne Construction Worker Shot, Suspects At Large

A 45-year-old man was shot after confronting two men who broke into a car at a La Verne construction site.

LA VERNE, CA — A 45-year-old construction worker was shot in his left foot Wednesday after police say he confronted a pair of two would-be robbers.

The man was taken to a nearby hospital, and his current condition is unknown, according to the La Verne Police Department Lt. Jason Prows.

The shooting happened at a construction site in the 2300 block of Arrow Highway after two men between the ages of 25 to 30 pulled up to the site in an older model grey Chevrolet Suburban.

The men left the Suburban and entered another vehicle at the site belonging to a worker. The two men were soon confronted by a group of construction workers, according to Prows.

One of the men pulled out a gun and fired a shot at the workers, striking one of them in the foot. The two men then fled from the site in their Suburban.
