1 Killed In 3-Car Crash Near Concord, Martinez: CHP
A Pittsburg man who was rear-ended on eastbound Highway 4 near I-680 was taken to a hospital where he later died, authorities said.

CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, CA β One person died in a three-vehicle crash Thursday night near Concord and Martinez.
The California Highway Patrol's Contra Costa Office was notified at 5:50 p.m. Thursday of the crash on eastbound state Highway 4 near the junction with Interstate 680.
According to the CHP, the driver of a gray Toyota Highlander SUV rear-ended a silver Toyota Camry sedan which was stopped for traffic ahead. This pushed the Camry forward into the concrete center divider, then caused it to collide with a Gray Mazda 3 sedan, which was also stopped for traffic, the CHP said.

Emergency personnel responded and took the Camry driver to a hospital where he was later pronounced dead. The Contra Costa County coroner's office identified the driver who died as Taylor Bustos, a 31-year-old man who lived in Pittsburg.
The driver and passenger of the Highlander were treated for injuries believed to be minor.

The driver of the Mazda 3 was not injured.
This crash remained under investigation Friday; the CHP asked anyone who witnessed it or the events leading up to it to call CHP Contra Costa in Martinez at 925- 646-4980 or email 320Investigations@chp.ca.gov.
