5 Things: Shredding for a Cause, Blue Bands and Coronado History

5 things Coronado residents should know Friday.

1. 3. Catch Liquid Blue at Concerts in the Park Sunday. Blue Frog Band and Teagan Taylor Trio will perform from 2-5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday respectively at the Ferry Landing.

2. The movie Deadlier Than the Male is showing at 1:30 p.m. Friday at the Coronado Senior Center.

3. Take a six-mile historic bike tour Sunday. $35 per person, $50 with bike rental. Reservations required. 

4. Are you a late starter? You can sign up for any 45th Annual Sports Fiesta events to take place Saturday and Sunday within 15 minutes of the start time. Money raised during Sports Fiesta goes toward Coronado youth groups.

5. Coronado Women's Club will shred documents to raise money for scholarships for young girls 9 a.m. to noon Saturday in the parking lot at Union Bank of California.

Don't forget: Coronado Fire Department and Hotel del Coronado will join forces Sunday to cook a spaghetti dinner at the firehouse. Proceeds go to Burn Institute to help burn victims.
