Coronado Police Partner with San Diego Food Bank for Food Drive

Drop off nonperishable foods at the Coronado Police Department from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Friday

Some 15 percent of the population in San Diego County live in poverty, with many facingΒ β€œfood insecurity,” which means that little or no food is available at home.Β 

To help with this need, the Coronado Police Department is hosting a food drive this holiday season.Β The Police Department will accept nonperishable food itemsΒ from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Friday, through Dec. 31.

  • Canned Meats: Tuna in water, Chicken
  • Dry or Canned Beans: Black, Pinto, Kidney, Low SodiumΒ 
  • Cereal: Low Sugar, Whole Grain or BranΒ 
  • Rice: Brown, Wild RiceΒ 
  • Nuts and Seeds: Almonds, Unsalted, Flax seedsΒ 
  • Peanut Butter: No Sugar AddedΒ 
  • Canned Soup: Low Sodium, Low FatΒ 
  • Canned or Dried Fruit: Packed in water or own juiceΒ 
  • Canned Vegetables: Low Sodium or No Salt AddedΒ 
  • Powdered Milk: Low or Non-FatΒ 
  • Pasta: Whole Grain
  • Infant FormulaΒ
