Coronado Joins in Countywide Coastal Cleanup Saturday

Be part of the largest cleanup activity in the state and come lend a hand at California Coastal Cleanup Day, part of the International Coastal Cleanup.

Coronado has two of the dozens of sites in San Diego County with cleanups.

You may gather at Central Beach to join nearly 200 volunteers, at 9 a.m. or Silver Strand State Beach, at 9 a.m., where 175 volunteers are signed up.

Ocean Conservancy, the event's organizer, said last year nearly 9 million volunteers in more than 150 countries participated in what has become the largest ocean conservancy effort in the world.

All paricipants must sign waivers. Any participants under 18 must have a signature from a parent or guardian.
