Coronado Fourth of July Events

Coronado is a city that comes alive to celebrate America every Fourth of July. Here's a schedule to keep you and yours busy from day to night.

Fourth of July in Coronado is non-stop.

You could feasibly leave your home before sunriseΒ and stay busy all dayΒ at events that celebrate America, demonstrate community in theΒ Crown City and utilize the area'sΒ beautiful resources.

Here are a few of the biggest events around town.Β

39th Annual Coronado Independence Day 15K Run/5K Run-Walk
Where: Tidelands Park
When: 7-9 a.m.
Why go: What better way to spend your Fourth of July than getting fit to benefit the Coronado Islander Sports Foundation

55th Annual Rough Water Swim
Where: Central Beach
When: 7:30- 10Β a.m.Β 
Why go: Get a cool start to your July 4th with a one-mile ocean swim.

Art in the Park
Where: Spreckels Park
When:Β 8 a.m. - 4 p.m.Β 
Why go: AΒ free open-air art showΒ at Spreckels Park provided by theΒ Coronado Art Association

64th AnnualΒ Fourth of July Parade
When: 10 a.m. Β to noonΒ 
Why go: More than 120 groups and floats will participate in this parade that starts near Orange Avenue and 1st Streets and proceeds south towardΒ Hotel del Coronado.Β Vehicle traffic will not be allowed onΒ Orange Avenue from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Other streets will be closed fromΒ 4:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. See the attached PDFs for the fullΒ parade route and list of participants.

Concerts in the Park at Spreckels Park
Where: Spreckels Park
When: 4 p.m.Β 
Why go: Music by the Coronado Community Band.

Glorietta BayΒ andΒ Big Bay BoomΒ Fireworks shows
Where: Glorietta Bay and north Coronado
When: 9 p.m.Β 
Why go: Watch fireworks take off from five barges around the northeast corner of Coronado both in Glorietta Bay and north of the Coronado Bay Bridge.
