San Diego County Fair Food: Krispy Kreme Sloppy Joe

Every year the San Diego County Fair outdoes itself with outrageous foods. And this year's winner may be the Krispy Kreme Sloppy Joe from Chicken Charlie. 

The sandwich consists of tangy sloppy joe sandwiched between two fluffy glazed Krispy Kreme donuts and sprinkled with cheese. 

The sandwich is sweet, salty, meaty and really, really messy. The flavors seems to remain separate from one another and fight for attention with each bite. It is a complete meal with entree and dessert in one for $7.95.

This is not the only new menu item from Chicken Charlie for the 2013 San Diego County Fair. The vendor is also making the newly created deep fried cookie dough, deep fried bacon wrapped pickles and a waffle dog.

They are located on the Concourse.

The San Diego County Fair runs June 8 through July 4 at the Del Mar Fairgrounds. The Fairgrounds are located at 2260 Jimmy Durante Blvd., Del Mar.
