- Why Go: For live music, dinner and the chance to see rarely glimpsed Oscar-nominated short films from past ceremonies.

- Why Go: To support your local bookstore and a fellow military wife. Marcia J. Sargent will discuss and sign copies of her new book, Wing Wife: How to Be Married to a Marine Fighter Pilot.

- Why Go: To see if a library really can be dressed up for love. Celebrate Valentine's Day with a concert featuring romantic classics and standards, performed by Tenor Bob Cornish and mezzo soprano Elena Vizuet.
