βGlenn is coming to Skyline at the simple request of [lead pastor] Jim [Garlow],β said a spokesman for the church. βDue to an overwhelming response, Jim requested two speaking engagements and Glenn has agreed.β
Beckβs topic will be βAmericaβs Return to Her Moral & Fiscal Foundations,β said Brian Williams, the spokesman.
Beckβs goal will be βto equip people with the principles that matterβbecause the answer is not in a party or person (candidate) or policies but principleβprinciples that have ongoing value,β said the church.
The church said that when Richards finishes βyou will know how to defend the biblical principles re: national issues (debt, taxation, immigration, defense, Social Security, life, marriage, the nature of government) without using a single Bible verse.β
No admission is being charged for the Beck appearances at 2 and 4 p.m. Sunday, April 22, but people are being asked to bring a nonperishable food item for the Skyline Church food bank.
Robison also is set to speak at 9 a.m. and 11 a.m. services that day and Richards will appear at the church at 6 that night, the church said.
The churchβs new sanctuary accommodates 2,000, but others might be able to watch from the Family Center, which can be equipped with screens, the church said. About 2,000-2,500 people per engagement are expected.
Shuttle bus service will be offered from nearby Cuyamaca College.
According to Beckβs website, his βcomedy tourβ of the nation begins April 20 in Phoenix and moves to San Diegoβs Copley Hall on April 21, where tickets range from $43 to $83, not counting fees.
βGlennβs hitting the road with his comedy tour, Unelectable 2,β says his website, which also lists a June 8 visit to Oklahoma City and a June 9 date in Charleston, SC. βItβs your chance to see one of the most dynamic and unique live performers of his generation.
βIf politicians said the kinds of things that Glenn doesβyou know, the truthβtheyβd never get into office. Thatβs why Glenn Beck is unelectableβhe canβt help but tell it like it is.β
The description continued:

Beck was in the news this week when photos were posted of him on a set made to look like the presidentβs Oval Office.
Beck has built an exact replica of the Oval Office for GBTV,β a spokesperson told Huffington Post.
βHeβll be using the set for a series of weekly speeches about βthe things we wish the president would say to the American peopleβor the things he should say,β β according to Huffington Post.
The speeches will be 3 to 4 minutes long, and βReaganesque in tone,β the website said.
Beck, whoβs had his own radio show since 2000, left Fox News after 30 months, closing his cable show June 30, 2011. In late August 2010, he spoke at a large rally on the National Mall in Washington, titled Restoring Honor.
