Poll: Should U.S. Be Carrying Out Drone Strikes Outside War Zones?
Obama adviser now admits to deadly Pakistan and Yemen attacks by remotely operated aircraft.
A year after SEALsΒ trained in Coronado launched a raid that killed Osama bin Laden, John Brennan, the White House counterterrorism adviser, justified drone strikes outside war zones as βethical and just.β And he said Monday: βThere is nothing in international law that bans the use of remotely piloted aircraft for this purpose or that prohibits us from using lethal force against our enemies outside of an active battlefield, at least when the country involved consents or is unable or unwilling to take action against the threat.β Even Americans can be targeted by drones, the Pentagon suggests. Has America gone too far with drones?Β Or is this an essential way to wage war on terrorists?
