More than 100 past and present Coronado High School water polo players came together for a friendly match Saturday with hundreds of spectators in attendance, said Coronado Aquatics Club president Jim Walsh.
Former Coronado High School varsity water polo teams and upcoming varsity players took part in the match at Brian Bent MemorialΒ Aquatics Complex Saturday in what has become an annual tradition.
Alumni women won 14-9 against varsity girls and alumni men and varsity boys tied 12-12.

"It's a good sport game where often times the officiating is a little tongue and cheek so the ideal situation is that the game ends up tied and often times phantom calls are made to try and get to that desired result," Walsh said.
Approximately $1,000 was raised at a social event for alumni held the evening before the game. Money raised will go to the Coronado Aquatics Booster Club and help pay for caps and balls for the new varsity squad.
