Duo Suspected of Silicon Valley Car Burglaries, Thefts Arrested
Angel Vital and Pedro Torres were arrested after several items of stolen property from Sunnyvale and Cupertino were found in their vehicle.
SANTA CLARA COUNTY, CA -- Two men fled but were caught and arrested recently when they were found in possession of items that had been reported stolen from vehicles in Cupertino.
At about 10 pm on May 1, several vehicle burglaries occurred in the City of Cupertino. After deputies assigned to the Sheriff's Office's West Valley Patrol Division located the suspect vehicle, it attempted to flee the scene.
Deputies pursued the suspect vehicle and were eventually able to stop them. The suspects, 19-year-old Angel Vital and 27-year-old Pedro Torres, were arrested and several items of stolen property were located inside of their vehicle.

Deputies recovered two stolen laptops in the suspect vehicle, which belonged to auto burglary victims from the City of Sunnyvale, and both suspects are known auto burglars out of Oakland with possible ties to a criminal street gang.
"As a reminder," the Sheriff's Office said in a statement, "please avoid leaving any valuable items in your vehicles, or take them with you."
