Car Crashes Through Window Of Cupertino Starbucks, 2 Bystanders Hurt

The bystanders were inside the restaurant and suffered non-life-threatening injuries. The driver of the car was uninjured.

CUPERTINO, CA — Two people were injured Thursday afternoon when a car crashed through a coffee shop in Cupertino.

Dep. Russell Davis, spokesperson for the Santa Clara County Sheriff's Department, said deputies received the call at 12:03 p.m. on a report of a vehicle crashing through a large glass window of Starbucks, located at 22390 Homestead Rd. in the Homestead Crossings Shopping Center adjacent to Foothill Expressway.

Davis said the two bystanders who were injured were inside when the car, a BMW sedan, crashed through the glass window. They sustained non-life-threatening injuries and were transported to a local hospital for treatment.

The driver, a woman in her 60s, was uninjured. She is cooperating with investigators.

Santa Clara County firefighters and emergency personnel also responded to the scene.
