CUPERTINO, CA -- If you're a born leader who likes to help out the neighbors as often as you can about an assortment of things, the city wants to hear from you.

City "block" leaders take extra steps to connect neighbors and build community within the neighborhoods to make them safer, healthier and happier.

Good neighborhoods are defined by those with neighbors working together on common issues and looking out for each other.

Upon becoming block leader, the city will teach you how to get to know neighbors and organize activities that spur communication. Block leaders receive updates on neighborhood development and activities and are vital links between City Hall and the residents.

Anyone interested in seeing what being a block leader is all about is asked to attend a March 27 meeting at Quinlan Community Center located at 10185 N. Stelling Road. The training is broken down into two 90-minute sessions starting at 9 a.m. and another at 7 p.m.
