Sunnyvale Man In Fatal Crash Identified: Santa Clara Police

Santa Clara Police reported that at 9:48 a.m. the man's car rolled over, struck a tree and stopped at a parked car.

SANTA CLARA, CA — A 22-year-old Sunnyvale man died at Valley Medical Center following a crash Thursday morning at Saratoga Avenue and Los Padres Boulevard, Santa Clara reported.

The victim has been identified as Luis Miranda Castro.

The fatal collision reported at 9:48 a.m. involved a black Ford Fusion traveling at a high rate of speed striking a blue Ford Focus making a right from Los Padres Boulevard onto westbound Saratoga Avenue.

The collision caused the Ford Fusion to roll over, strike a tree in the center median before coming to rest against a parked car on the north side of Saratoga Avenue. The Focus that hit a parked car on the north side of Saratoga Avenue was driven by a 77-year-old Santa Clara resident who complained of pain but declined further medical attention.
