Great America Park Shooting Help Sought By Santa Clara Police

A confrontation between 2 groups outside the park's metal detectors led to the bullet brushing the skin of a female victim who was treated.

SANTA CLARA, CA — The Santa Clara Police Department is asking for the public’s help for information related to a shooting that occurred Thursday night at California's Great America Theme Park.

At about 9:40 p.m., a fight involving several individuals in two groups ensued outside the amusement park at 4701 Great America Parkway in the area leading up to the metal detectors at the entrance of the park.

At one point, one member of a group fired one shot from a handgun. One victim was struck on the arm, but the bullet did not break the victim’s skin. The victim was treated on site for minor injuries.

The unidentified suspected gunman fled the scene and remains at large.
