How Much Did Cupertino Residents Reduce Emissions By In 2021?
Silicon Valley Clean Energy released its annual community report for the city of Cupertino in 2021.
CUPERTINO, CA — Cupertino residents reduced electricity-related emissions by 96 percent in 2021, according to Silicon Valley Clean Energy.
The electricity provider’s 2021 Community Impact Report for Cupertino also indicated that over 31 million pounds of greenhouse gas emissions were avoided.
Cupertino customers also had a total of $432,000 in on-bill savings. Silicon Valley Clean energy made $64,660 in cash payments to customers for generating surplus solar energy, and 22,700 households and businesses received their electricity from carbon-free resources.

Silicon Valley Clean Energy’s 272,000 residential and commercial customers helped avoid a total of 575 million pounds of greenhouse gas emissions in 2021, and reduced energy-related annual greenhouse gas emissions by 35 percent compared to 2015.
