Man In Deadly Pedestrian Crash Identified
The man was struck by a vehicle on the Central Expressway on Dec. 28 and later died in the hospital last Friday.

SANTA CLARA, CA -- A man who died in a hospital Friday after being hit by a car in Santa Clara last month has been identified as 65-year-old Walkeba Regassa, according to the Santa Clara County medical examiner's office.
The crash happened at 8:06 p.m. on Dec. 28 on Central Expressway near De La Cruz Boulevard. Santa Clara police said a small truck going west on Central Expressway hit a pedestrian walking outside of a crosswalk.
Regassa was taken to a hospital and died one week later. Police said he had been reported missing by his family.

The truck driver remained at the scene and cooperated with police. He is not believed to have been intoxicated.
