How Important Are Test Scores?
API scores were released Thursday, and Cupertino schools fared well.

The California Academic Performance Index is a tool that the state uses in order to rate a school's performance on a scale of 200 to 1,000. California's benchmark, or expected average is 800.
. Murdock-Portal Elementary and William Faria Elementary schools each had a 2011 Academic Performance Index score of 998, placing them as the top-performing elementary schools in California.
How important are these scores to you? Do you base your decision on schools on this number? Or do you factor it in with other variables like school climate and teacher retention?
