Teen Sues Apple For $1 Billion On False Theft Claim: Report
The 18-year-old New York man alleges the computer firm's facial recognition program falsely identified him as a thief: report.

CUPERTINO, CA — A $1 billion lawsuit was filed in New York against Apple over a purported false claim that he stole merchandise from the computer giant's stores, the Washington Post has reported.
The suit claims the tech company used its facial recognition to enforce its allegations.
The result was Ousmane Bah, 18, getting arrested at his home in November, the Post adds.

Ironically, Bah alleges that the warrant he was served was based on the wrong person's picture, according to the Post.
The lawsuit also claims that even a New York Police Department detective agreed the thief on surveillance camera “looked nothing like” Bah.

Apple has declined to comment on the lawsuit to the Washington Post. Patch reached out as well.
