Victim In Fatal El Camino Real Hit-And-Run Identified
Sunnyvale DPS is still seeking the driver of a vehicle that struck the 61-year-old pedestrian.

SANTA CLARA VALLEY, CA — A 61-year-old woman who died as a result of a fatal hit-and-run collision in Sunnyvale on Thursday night has been identified by the Santa Clara County medical examiner's office. Elida Garcia of Santa Clara was found lying in the roadway by a person driving west near the intersection of El Camino Real and Maria Lane who called police, according to the Sunnyvale Department of Public Safety.
Officers responded to the call around 11:15 p.m. and found Garcia was suffering major injuries, department officials said. She was then transported to the hospital.
There is currently no information on the vehicle or the driver who struck Garcia. No witnesses of the collision have come forward, public safety officials said.
