13 Women in Tech: Davis Alum Among Most Influential

Tracy Caldwell Dyson is an American chemist and mission specialist for NASA.

Women have long been vital components in the world of tech, but their influence is getting more attention and respect these days.

The Huffington Post, in conjunction with Dell and Intel, put together a list of the 13-most influential in technology today. Among those women is UC Davis graduate Tracy Caldwell Dyson.

Tracy Caldwell Dyson is an American chemist and mission specialist for NASA. She has completed three spacewalks for almost three hours of extra vehicular activity to replace a malfunctioning coolant pump.

During ISS Expeditions 4 through 6, Caldwell Dyson also served as ISS spacecraft communicator inside Mission Control. In 2003, she transitioned to the branch and was assigned to flight software verification in the Shuttle Avionics Integration Laboratory. She's also worked on supporting launch and landing operations at Kennedy Space Center.
