Become A Patch Blogger!

If you've got an opinion and an internet connection, our blogging platform could give you an audience.

If you’ve got something to say, but nobody to say it to, here’s your chance.

Davis Patch is looking for bloggers who can riff on various topics, share their personality and engage readers in online discussions.

Patch is more than a news site; it's an online conversation about your community. To determine if blogging is for you, try asking yourself these questions:

  • Are you passionate about issues in Davis?
  • Do you have strong opinions about local government?
  • Do you have expertise in some field that you think could help others?
  • Can you just make us all laugh?
  • Can you write compellingly?

This isn't a reporting job; it's blogging. You write what you want, whenever you want to write it. If you have no past writing experience, don’t let that stop you from contacting me.

You can post multiple entries per day, or you can post just once. Patch won't own what you post, so you can repost your entries to other blogs or outlets.

Much like The Huffington Post, Patch is providing local bloggers an online platform to have their words seen by a larger audience. Be interesting. Be provocative. Be yourself.

My role as editor is to review blog entries submitted to ensure there are no libelous claims. I might clean up obvious typos as well, but that’s it.

If you'd like to talk more about blogging, or to submit something you’ve already written, e-mail me at justin.cox@patch.com or give me a call at 530-262-8183.

Here's our first blog by Chandler Hotchkin, a self-proclaimed . Read about her arrival in Davis.
