City of Davis Recruiting for Advisory Commissions

The City of Davis is accepting applications from residents 18 years old or older interested in sitting on one of seven advisory commissions.

DAVIS, CA -- If you're interested in performing some civic work, the City of Davis is currently accepting applications from residents 18 years of age and older who are interested in serving on one of the seven advisory boards.

The purpose of the recruitment is to fill a number of member seats whose terms will expire on June 30. In addition to the application form, commission applicants will participate in a 10-minute private interview with the Council subcommittee and City staff. Applications are tentatively scheduled to be submitted to City Council for appointment in June.

Those serving on city commissions help plan the future of Davis. According to the city, commissions are a conduit for citizen input – a way of gathering, analyzing and recommending options to the City Council. Commissions also provide an avenue for determining the community’s feelings about issues and extending the reach of the democratic process.

Applications may be picked up at the City Clerk’s Office at City Hall, 23 Russell Boulevard during regular business hours, or downloaded at http://cityofdavis.org/city-hall/city-council/commissions-and-committees/apply-to-serve-on-a-city-commission.

The application deadline is Wednesday, April 19.

Applications may be submitted, in person or via mail, to the City Clerk’s Office at City Hall, located at 23 Russell Blvd., Davis, CA 95616. They can also be e-mailed to the clerk's office at clerkweb@cityofdavis.org.
