Fine Steps is a Sacramento band that sounds simultaneously traditional, yet unclassifiably unique. The Hemlock Tavern describes them as a “six-piece rock-pop band from Sacto, with members of Mayyors and Ganglians.” The Davis Music Festival says to “expect it loud.” See for yourself by checking out their MySpace page.

7:30 p.m.
Youth and Rescue Mission are a five-piece Indie/Rock/Soul group from Seattle. The group consists of three brothers and a sister, all of whom sing and play guitar as well as keyboards. Individually they pluck banjos, strum mandolins and drop bass lines (and H-bombs?). Stream their self-titled album on their site. Hearth Music describes their interwoven harmonies and clapped rhythms as campfire-esque sing-alongs with hummable melodies.

G. Green’s songs are described by DMF as containing “awesome songwriting so each version is uniquely rad.” A quick listen to the G. Green’s MySpace page leads one to believe the band will put on a gritty and energetic set. It also appears that they played a role in organizing the festival.

10:30 p.m.
New Heirlooms is a six-piece folk group from Davis. Their self-titled "7" was produced by The Devil Makes Three’s Cooper McBean, which is a good first step in describing their sound. Here’s the second step, according to DMF: Their new "7" is a "haunting debut" with beautiful male-female harmonies.
