Davis Music Festival Preview: Little Prague

Find out if you want to see any of these four bands on Saturday night.

7 p.m.
The Greening has dubbed itself “the Bay’s finest rock‘n’roll band,” or, if you’re looking for a description of its style, how about this: A mix of classic rock, surf and hyper-keyboard freakouts. Listen to its songs on Facebook.

8:30 p.m.
Garrett Pierce is one of Davis’ most prized singer/songwriters. The singer, who is signed to Crossbill Records, has a storytelling ability that is “absolutely unmatched,” according to the Davis Music Festival. Check out his music here. His influences range from Leonard Cohen and Tom Waits to The Velvet Underground and Neutral Milk Hotel.

10 p.m.
The Blank Tapes recorded their first LP, appropriately dubbed “Home Away From Home,” was recorded all over the United States in the band’s touring van. The San Francisco five-piece band recently headlined the Great American Music Hall. Check out those van recordings here.

11:30 p.m.
Musical Charis is described by the Davis Music Festival as “Fleetwood Mac with a modern twist of bands like Dredg and Oasis.” The band’s members are from Sacramento and Orlando and are coming off a national tour. Check out their songs here.
