Davis Police Collect 315 Pounds of Prescription Drugs

Davis Police teamed up with the Drug Enforcement Administration to take back unwanted, unused or expired prescriptions drugs this past Saturday. In a span of four hours, they collected 315 pounds of prescription medication. 

"By having community members turn in this medication, we are hoping to avoid accidental overdoses, unlawful disposal, and harm to the environment," the department said in a release. "If you did not have an opportunity to turn in your unwanted, unused, or expired medication, you can bring it to the Davis Police Department or by going to the DEA's website and clicking on the 'drug disposal' link."
