According to Davis police, a card skimming device was found on the ATM at River City Bank in downtown Davis on Monday and removed.

Police describe a card skimmer as a small device that fits over the card reader.

It is often combined with a camera or keypad device that illlegally records a customer's personal identification information when a withdrawal is made, according to Davis police.

Police remind residents that when using an ATM, you should be aware of your surroundings, protect your PIN and be suspicious of any loose, crooked or damaged machines.
